Recording guitars for a song we wrote for 'Westlife'.

Writer: Jake RommerJake Rommer

Tuned in DADGAD for some folky strumming on a track we wrote in October 2018.

Folky acoustic in DADGAD

DADGAD is a beautiful open tuning that allows you to strum open strings and move small 2 or 3 note chord shapes around. With the drone of the open strings surrounding the moving chords it creates a lovely rhythmic and happy atmosphere for a studio track. We multi tracked the guitars and panned them to give that stereo experience to the listener, I played something slightly different every time so that the tracks synced up with each other but still each had their own individuality which really gives space and depth to guitar tracks in a pop mix.
